Chicken biryani is the best variation of biryani. Most people’s favorite dish is  Indian chicken biryani.

How to make a chicken biryani recipe? Chicken biryani is the most delicious and healthy biryani recipe.

Without chicken, biryani can not be completed without any happy moments.  Authentic chicken biryani recipes not only hold the happy moment but are also full of carbohydrates and proteins balanced diet.

It is very easy to make. Let’s get to know how to make a chicken biryani recipe.

Chicken biryani ingredients

Chicken biryani is cooked with light spices. But spices are used two times. One for biryani and one for chicken. Besides, to get an authentic chicken biryani recipe, some work is done before cooking. Such as:

Basmati rice:   You have to choose the aged basmati rice for the best chicken biryani. Because this rice has its scent and its grain is too long. It looks wonderful and can make the best chicken biryani recipe.  Two cups of basmati rice rinse with clean water and soak it for thirty minutes. After thirty minutes drain its water.

Saffron: Soak the saffron in one cup of milk until soft. 

Onion: To get a delicious chicken biryani, marinate the chicken for the first time. So you need half a cup of brown onion. Take a frying pan and heat it with oil on medium flame, after heat then fries onion in brown color till ten minutes.

Potato:  If you want to mix potatoes, you may soak the potatoes in saffron water before the fry moment.

Ingredients for chicken

  • Chicken half kg
  • Yogurt half cup
  • Potato two pieces if you like
  • Onion half-cup fries
  • Onion slice half cup
  • Ginger paste 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic paste 1 spoon
  • Green chili two pieces
  • Kashmiri red chili powder half  tablespoon
  • Turmeric powder 1 tablespoon
  • Coriander powder 1 tablespoon
  • Star anise 1 piece
  • Mace 1 piece
  • Mint leaves chopped 2 spoon
  • Oil 2 tablespoon
  • Ghee 1 tablespoon 
  • Salt as like your taste

Method of chicken marinate

Take a clean bowl and put on chicken, yogurt, ginger and garlic paste, slight turmeric, Kashmiri red chili powder for the nice color, green chili, coriander powder, fried onion, raw slice onion, one tablespoon ghee, salt as like your taste all of the ingredients mix well the chicken and after marinate leave it for one hour in your room temperature or refrigerator. 

If you wish, you can marinate the chicken last night.

You may add some mint leaves too. To get the flavor strong and a good aroma.  After one hour you can cook it for use in biryani. To this process, the chicken’s texture is so soft and juicy. 

Ingredients for biryani

  • Basmati rice  2 cups
  • Clove 8 to 10 pieces
  • Cinnamon 2 stick of 1 inch 
  • Shahi jeera 1 tablespoon
  • Black pepper cons half tablespoon
  • Saffron 2 big pieces
  • Green cardamom 6 to 7 pieces
  • Black cardamom 1 piece
  • Bay leaf 1 piece
  • biryani masala 1 tablespoon
  • Kewra water 2 drops
  • Milk 1 cup
  • Water as needed

Method of preparing  biryani rice

For preparing biryani rice, put a  pot in your oven to boil water with clove, cinnamon, shahi jeera, black pepper cons, green cardamom, black cardamom, and bay leaf.

Put the basmati rice when the water is boiling. Wait for boiling rice 70 percent. You should pick the upper rice from water and drain it with a net. And lower the rice to the other side. It also drains the same way.

 Cooking hour

After completing all steps, now you can start to cook chicken. Put a frypan in your oven and pour oil. First, you can fry the potato. Keep the flame medium so it can burn. When the potato is brown, keep it in another bowl.

And then put a heavy pot or pressure cooker in your oven. Now sizzling sliced onion for light brown to use the remaining oil after frying the potato, this time you put your marinated chicken and frying potato.

Handling the chicken until the oil and fragrant come out and dry position the chicken. After sizzling, you can add the needed water and cover it. At this moment keep the flame lower. Wait till it’s often soft.

At that time you can mix kewra water with saffron milk which you have mixed before. Also, add one tablespoon of biryani masala.

Time of layering

When the water in the meat starts to decrease it is the perfect time for biryani layering. You spread the rice which you pick first. You spread the little amount of kewra water which you have ready, spread some fried onion on the first layer, After then the same on the last layer.

Cover it again and wait for a minimum of fifteen minutes for dum. Because the chicken and rice will be soft with the gravy of chicken and its aroma will come out slowly. The chicken biryani smoke and its fragrance will show how tasty the chicken biryani is!
